NEWS: THE LIVEWELL FOUNDATION ANNOUNCES £100,000 OF FUNDING AVAILABLE

The Livewell Foundation, grant giving foundation arm of Livewell Southwest, has today announced its next tranche of £100,000 funding available for the voluntary sector in the Plymouth and surrounding areas.

The Livewell Foundation is the charitable arm of Livewell Southwest CIC and distributes charitable funds to support services run by the social enterprise including the Mount Gould Local Care Centre, Plym Neuro Rehab Unit and mental health services in Plymouth.

The Foundation also enables Livewell Southwest to fulfil its community interest status by distributing funds to fantastic causes and initiatives across Plymouth and South West Devon.

Earlier this year, Livewell Southwest gifted a significant donation of £100,000 to the Livewell Foundation, which is now inviting charities, groups and third sector projects to bid for a share of the money.

Applications must be linked to meeting at least one of Livewell Foundation’s aims of: improving health and wellbeing, reducing mental and physical ill health and/ or reducing social isolation.  This year, applications will also score higher if they address one or two of the following key health concerns as outlined in the latest Plymouth report: (i) Children’s Mental Health and (ii) Women’s Health.

Organisations or projects applying for funding must also be operating from within the following postcode areas: PL1-PL10 inclusive, PL16 and PL19-21 inclusive, TQ7, TQ8 or TQ10.

Applications can be for up to £10,000. The closing date is 5pm on 31 December 2024, with funds expected to be awarded by the end of March 2025.

Chris Davies, Chairman of the Livewell Foundation, said: “We are delighted to receive such excellent, continued support from Livewell Southwest.  The donation of £100,000 will go a long way in supporting numerous organisations across the voluntary sector who are working to improve health and wellbeing, prevent ill health or reduce social isolation.  We are also keen to hear from organisations this year which place a higher emphasis on children’s mental health and / or women’s health.  This decision was made after a review of numerous local health care reports earlier this year which identified these as two health inequalities for Plymouth in particular.  We look forward to hearing from a number of applicants and understanding what impact can be made.”
